Delete your account
In the app
- Open the Profile tab.
- Tap Safety and data.
- At the bottom of the screen, tap Delete account.
- The label changes to Yes, delete forever. Tap it again.
We delete the account at once, and this cannot be undone.
By letter
You can also delete your account without the app. Write to info@glogermatch.com from the address your account is registered with, with Delete account as the subject. We reply to that address and delete the account once you confirm the request. We cannot act on a request from any other address, because we would have no way of knowing that the account is yours.
We delete the account within 30 days of your confirmation. The same data is deleted as when you delete the account in the app.
What is deleted
Together with the account we delete:
- the account and the profile: email address, password, the link to Google, name, date of birth, gender, city, the text about yourself, search and notification settings, and the record of your consent
- your answers to the questionnaire
- your photos, including the files themselves on our server
- likes and passes, both the ones you gave and the ones you received
- your matches and the whole conversation in each of them, including the other person's messages, which disappear for them too
- blocks, both the ones you made and the ones made against you
- the details of your devices kept for notifications
- the log of the letters we sent you
- your sign-in sessions on every device
What is kept
Reports stay, both the ones you filed and the ones filed about you. We remove the reference to your account from them, so a report no longer names you. Its reason and date remain, because reports still have to be reviewed after an account is deleted.
Nightly copies of the database are kept for 30 days, so the account is gone from them within 30 days of its deletion.
If an account was suspended for sexual content involving minors, that material and the account's details are kept even after the account is deleted: we hold them for investigators for as long as the law requires.
